It’s Panda-monium in Science!

This year, the students in kindergarten and first and second grades have been studying pandas with Mrs. Grimm and Mrs. Elko. When they weighed and measured models of pandas, they were practicing some of the same skills the panda team at the San Diego Zoo used on baby Mei Sheng. Using the inquiry method, they made observations and held discussions about the various characteristics of pandas and their habitats. As an extension of this activity, the students sent letters and pictures to 4 year-old panda Hua Mei, Mei Sheng’s older sister who is expected to move to China.

“We received a wonderful response from the (San Diego Zoo) panda team thanking the children for their cards,” said Mrs. Grimm.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

The St. Patrick's Day custom came to America in 1737. That was the first year St. Patrick's Day was publicly celebrated in this country, in Boston.

Labels Collections

We would like to introduce Tara Ponce as the new Labels Coordinator. "With everyone's help," says Tara, "we can make this year Ericson's best ever. The Labels for Education program is a great way to earn Free merchandise for our school."

Please remember to collect and turn in your labels from Tyson and Campbell's products as well as labels from Box Tops for Education products. We will have a count on March 1st.
